Turkey has successfully completed the initial phase of developing the Sakarya gas field located in the Black Sea. The gas production has reached a record daily output of 9.5 million cubic meters.
This was reported by Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, on social media platform X, as per Ukrinform.
“The first phase of the Sakarya gas field has been completed. Daily production stands at 9.5 million cubic meters,” the minister stated.
He noted that this volume of natural gas is sufficient to supply 4 million households, and efforts to increase production will continue.
As a reminder:
The United States has agreed to extend the sanctions exemption, allowing Turkey to continue purchasing Russian natural gas.
