Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick recently arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit.
This was revealed by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a post on social media platform X, as reported by "European Truth".
Zelensky mentioned that he discussed with Fitzpatrick efforts to achieve a lasting peace, American proposals for a full and unconditional ceasefire, and security guarantees for Ukraine.
"Brian Fitzpatrick is scheduled to visit the front lines to meet our soldiers. This is very important. Thank you for your support!" - Zelensky emphasized.
The congressman did not disclose his visit to Ukraine and did not announce any plans in recent days. In a video released by Zelensky's press office, he noted that he arrived in Kyiv after a trip to Turkey and Poland.
Last month, Fitzpatrick, along with colleagues, introduced a bipartisan resolution affirming the US position of non-recognition of Russia's claims to the occupied sovereign Ukrainian territories.
He was also one of the few Republican congressmen who publicly supported Zelensky after Donald Trump referred to him as a "dictator without elections."
