During the 26th 'Ramstein' meeting, it was revealed that Norway will provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems worth 1.2 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately 107 million USD).
This was reported by the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.
Norwegian Aid to Ukraine - Key Details
"We are supplying new air defense systems valued at 1.2 billion kroner, procured through the JUMPSTART program, to protect the population and infrastructure of Ukraine," the statement said.
At the defense contact group meeting, Norwegian Defense Minister Tone O. Sandvik emphasized that air defense is the top military priority for Ukraine and is crucial for the protection of both military and civilian infrastructure.
This funding is part of a 22.5 billion kroner ($2 billion) military support package for Ukraine in 2025 under the Nansen Support Program.
In 2024, Norway allocated over six billion kroner for Ukraine's air defense (over $532 million).
Additionally, Norway will join the 'drone coalition' operating within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, providing $50 million for this effort.
UK Takes the Lead in 'Ramstein' Format
The UK has officially chaired the 'Ramstein' meeting for the first time.
The 26th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group took place on February 12 at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
