The air defense forces of Ukraine successfully neutralized one ballistic missile and 81 drones launched by Russian forces on the evening of January 6. This information was shared by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
On the evening of January 6, the enemy launched a ballistic missile "Iskander-M" from Taganrog, along with 95 strike drones of various types including Shahed. These drones were launched from several directions, including Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, Hvardiyiske (temporarily occupied Crimea), and temporarily occupied Donetsk, with around 60 being of the Shahed type.
The air strike was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 07:30 on January 7, preliminary data indicated that the air defense had shot down one ballistic missile and 81 drones in the northern, central, and eastern parts of Ukraine.
Hits from 14 strike drones were recorded at 8 locations, along with debris from downed drones at 5 locations.
The attack continues, with several enemy drones still in the airspace.
Throughout the day, Russian forces carried out 682 strikes on 24 populated areas in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result, two people were killed and nine others injured.
