Ukrainian Forces Respond to Drone Assault

The Ukrainian air defense forces successfully neutralized 84 out of 110 enemy drones launched by Russia in an attack on the country. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram. 
Starting from the evening of Monday, December 8, Russian forces executed an assault using 110 strike drones of various types, including Shahed and “Herbera,” coming from directions such as Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo (RF), as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiyiske (Crimea). Approximately 70 of these were Shahed type drones.
The airspace defense was conducted by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 09:00 on Tuesday, December 9, initial data indicates that the air defense has shot down 84 drones in the northern, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.
Confirmed hits on 24 strike UAVs were recorded across 9 locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy UAVs still in the airspace.
Parts of Sumy and the Sumy region have experienced power outages due to the massive strikes on the energy infrastructure by Russia.
