Innovative Drone with Net Launcher for Airspace Defense

The Ukrainian company AirNet has introduced a cutting-edge drone fitted with a net launcher and integrated radar. This device can detect hostile drones and respond automatically.

The information about the development was shared during the Brave1 Components exhibition, as reported by "Militarnyi".

The drone weighs 780 grams and can be mounted on various platforms. It activates automatically: just connect to power and elevate it above 5 meters.

The radar system determines the three-dimensional coordinates of moving objects within a designated sector, including distance, azimuth, and altitude.

When the AirNet-equipped drone approaches a foreign UAV within a range of 0.1 to 6 meters, the system locks onto the target and sends a command to ignite the pyrotechnic cartridge – a micro-explosive mechanism.

This results in a shot being fired with a special net at a distance of 5-10 meters.

"The cost of one net shot is approximately 50 dollars, but it can incapacitate any propeller-equipped drone, including large UAV models," the company states.
The AirNet system is controlled from the drone's remote, onto which it is installed. The captured drone remains suspended in the net beneath the interceptor, allowing the operator to transport it to a secure location.

The net's strength allows it to carry loads up to 20 kg. If the captured drone is too heavy or dangerous, the operator can remotely drop it along with the net.

After completing a mission, the operator can quickly change the cartridge to a new net and pyrotechnic cartridge.

It was previously reported that Brave1 is launching a grant program for domestic weapon component manufacturers. Developers can receive up to 8 million UAH to accelerate R&D and enhance the technological readiness of their developments.
