As of 09:00, air defense forces have successfully neutralized 72 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera types, and other models in the north, south, and east of the country. This was reported by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
"Preliminary data as of 09:00 indicates that 72 enemy UAVs of 'Shahed', 'Gerbera', and other types have been downed or suppressed. There were 47 strikes recorded on 10 different locations. The attack is ongoing, and several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace," the report states.
It is noted that on the night of October 23 to 24, the Russian forces attacked the territory of Ukraine with 128 strike drones of the 'Shahed', 'Gerbera' types, and other UAVs from the following directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia, Chauda, Hvardiyske – temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, with around 90 of them being 'Shaheds'.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces. The day before, air defense had downed or suppressed 92 enemy drones of the 'Shahed', 'Gerbera', and other types.
