The air defense forces of Ukraine neutralized 136 out of 172 drones launched by Russian troops on the evening of September 16.
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Starting from 6 PM on Tuesday, September 16, the aggressors launched attacks using a ballistic missile "Iskander-M/KN-23" and an S-300 guided missile from the Rostov and Kursk regions, deploying 172 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, "Herbera", and other drones from directions including Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Milleryovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), and Chаuda (temporarily occupied Crimea). More than 100 of these were Shahed-type drones.
The attacks were repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
Preliminary data as of 9:30 AM on Wednesday, September 17, indicates that air defense forces shot down/suppressed 136 UAVs of the Shahed, "Herbera", and other types in the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
