Night Assault: New Insights on the Attack against Ukraine

On the night of July 29 to 30, the skies over Ukraine were targeted by Russian forces deploying 78 Shahed-type drones along with various other models. A total of 51 enemy drones were neutralized, although some strikes were recorded.

This information was provided by the Ukrainian Air Forces. 

According to their report: "As of 09:00, our defense systems have shot down or suppressed 51 enemy UAVs in the northern and eastern regions. There were hits recorded from 27 drones in 7 locations, with debris falling in 2 areas".

The invaders launched the drones starting at 22:30 (July 29) from various locations, including Oryol, Kursk, and Hvardiyiske - temporarily occupied Crimea. The Air Forces indicated that a notable feature of the nighttime assault was the use of up to 8 rocket drones in the northern direction. The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of defense forces.
