Night Assault: Updated Insights on Russian Airstrikes

On the night of July 9, the Ukrainian military reported a significant number of airstrikes from Russia. Air defense forces intercepted 718 objects, with several strikes confirmed in various locations.

Starting from 8 PM on July 8, the enemy deployed:

  • 700 drones of the Shahed type and other UAVs from different directions, including Bryansk and Kursk;
  • 6 X-101 cruise missiles from Russian territory;
  • 4 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.
  • The primary target was the city of Lutsk.

As of 8 AM, air defense had neutralized 718 aerial objects, of which 303 were downed by fire:

  • 296 Shahed drones were destroyed, and 415 were suppressed by electronic warfare;
  • 6 X-101 missiles were also downed.

Strikes were recorded in 4 locations, with downed objects falling in 14 areas.

The assaults were repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
