Over the course of eight stages of a large-scale prisoner exchange, hundreds of Ukrainians have been returned home, including the injured, civilians, and those missing.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on Facebook.
«Eight stages of a significant exchange. Since early June, hundreds of our people have returned home. Our youth, defenders of Mariupol, those who held the line in Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions. The injured, those with serious illnesses. Those who were considered missing», — stated the head of state.
According to Zelensky, most of those released had been in Russian captivity since 2022. Among the returnees are not only military personnel but also civilians who became victims of the war.
The President emphasized that this is the result of a coordinated effort by a large team that works daily to secure the release of every Ukrainian.
«We will continue and will work until we bring everyone back, without exception», he declared.
