image

Today, Ukraine successfully recovered another group of its defenders, continuing the exchanges based on the “Istanbul agreements”.

This exchange took place under the coordination of the headquarters tasked by the President of Ukraine. A group of military personnel, including those categorized as “injured and severely ill” and those “under 25”, returned from Russian captivity.

The returning individuals include representatives from various military branches, such as the Navy and the National Guard of Ukraine. The youngest among them is just 20 years old, while the oldest is 59.

Among the freed are defenders of Mariupol, who have been held captive since 2022.

The majority of the released individuals had been in captivity for over 3 years, defending our country in the east.

Today, it was also possible to free unlawfully convicted civilians.

Upon their return, each released individual will undergo a medical examination and receive support for physical and psychological rehabilitation.

Exchanges under the “Istanbul agreements” are ongoing, and the exact number of freed individuals will be announced after all stages are completed.

The exchange was conducted under the leadership of Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov.

The coordination headquarters continues its efforts to bring all our defenders home!

Glory to Ukraine!
