A new phase of prisoner exchange has occurred in Ukraine, with a group of seriously ill servicemen being freed as per the agreements made in Istanbul.
Today, another stage of the exchange took place, involving the release of injured and seriously ill military personnel who had been held captive for an extended period. The Coordinating Headquarters, under the direction of the President of Ukraine, facilitated their return.
The released individuals include representatives from various military branches, including the Navy, Airborne Assault Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, as well as border guards and national guards.
All of the released defenders are suffering from severe medical conditions due to their injuries and the conditions of captivity. Many are dealing with issues such as severe weight loss, ulcers, vision problems, musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and digestive issues.
Most of the freed warriors have spent over three years in captivity, with many captured during the defense of Mariupol.
Today's return primarily includes soldiers of the rank of private and sergeant.
The released defenders served in various regions, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, as well as in Zaporizhia and Kyiv regions.
Upon their return, the defenders will undergo necessary medical evaluations, receive physical and psychological rehabilitation support, and all due compensations for their time in captivity.
The Coordinating Headquarters continues its work and is preparing for the next phase of prisoner exchanges.
We are working on bringing everyone back!
Glory to Ukraine!
