Ukraine has completed another phase of returning the fallen - repatriation efforts continue

Today marked the continuation of the process of returning the fallen in accordance with agreements made in Istanbul. An additional 1200 bodies have been brought back to Ukraine, which, according to Russian sources, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.

In the coming days, investigative authorities in collaboration with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct necessary examinations and identifications of the repatriated individuals.

This phase of repatriation was made possible through the coordinated efforts of various participants, including the Coordination Headquarters on Prisoner of War Affairs, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other security and defense organizations.

Special thanks to the personnel of the Central Administration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for Repatriation Support, which facilitates the transportation of the repatriated to designated specialized institutions and coordinates the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement representatives.
