President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine responded to the recent attacks by Russia, stating that the country needs a genuine ceasefire and is prepared for it.

Details: Zelensky reminded that on the night of May 4, rescuers in Kyiv were extinguishing fires after Russian drones attacked residential areas, and a dormitory was burning in Cherkasy.

The President reported that most of the 165 drones used in the attack on Sunday were Iranian "Shaheds", targeting Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions.

Zelensky's direct quote: "Russians are asking for silence on May 9, while they strike Ukraine every day. This is a high level of cynicism...

... What we need is a real ceasefire. Ukraine is ready for silence any day, but at least for a month, to end the war. If there is silence, it should be every day; if there is a ceasefire, it shouldn't just be for their holidays, but for every day".
