Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, after a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Russian forces violated the "Easter ceasefire" 2935 times. He emphasized that Ukrainian actions will be a "mirror" response to the aggressor's actions.

Zelensky remarked: "The total number of violations committed by the Russian army on this day is 2935".

He also noted that most of the shelling and assaults occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.

The President added that "in the Kursk direction, the promise of silence was also not upheld".

According to Zelensky, a total of 96 assaults by Russian forces occurred on the front lines, 1882 shellings of Ukrainian positions, including 812 from heavy weaponry, and over 950 instances of Russian FPV drone usage.

Zelensky stated: "On this day, Moscow failed to respond to the proposal for a complete ceasefire for the next 30 days after Easter, as well as the request to at least maintain silence in the skies regarding civilian infrastructure and refrain from missile and drone strikes.

The nature of Ukrainian actions will remain mirror-like: we will respond to silence with silence, and our strikes will defend against Russian attacks. Actions are always more eloquent than words".

Background: On the evening of April 19, Zelensky, after the report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Russian "Easter ceasefire" does not extend to the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation, and shelling has not stopped in parts of other directions on the front.

Zelensky proposed to Russia to extend the ban on long-range strikes for 30 days, considering that during the so-called "Easter ceasefire" no air alerts were recorded despite numerous violations by the Russian Federation on the front.

History:

  • On Saturday, the head of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced an "Easter ceasefire", which allegedly involves stopping all hostilities in Ukraine from the evening of April 19 until midnight on April 21. • According to the monitoring project DeepState, military personnel felt no sign of the so-called "Easter ceasefire" promised by the Russians in virtually any direction.
  • According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of April 20, up to 4 PM, despite the announced "ceasefire" by the Russian Federation, 45 combat clashes occurred on the front lines, including 20 in the Pokrovsk direction.
  • The Kremlin stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not give the order to continue the so-called "Easter ceasefire", which the Russians had not adhered to anyway, after midnight on April 21.
