Ukraine Successfully Repatriates 909 Fallen Soldiers

Ukraine has successfully repatriated 909 bodies of fallen soldiers who died on various fronts.

This information was announced by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Details of the repatriation of fallen soldiers' bodies

The bodies were recovered from the following regions:

  • Kurakhivskyi
  • Pokrivskyi
  • Bakhmutskyi
  • Vuhledarskyi
  • Luhansk
  • Zaporizhzhia
  • Sumy
  • Kharkiv.

Additionally, bodies were retrieved from morgues located in Russia.

The repatriation was facilitated by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Ministry of Reintegration, authorized officials in collaboration with the Unified Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and other law enforcement agencies and international organizations.

The bodies will be transported to designated state institutions, where law enforcement and forensic experts will identify the deceased.

Once identified, the bodies of the fallen defenders of Ukraine will be handed over to their relatives for burial.

Information on previous repatriation efforts

On March 28, 909 bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers were successfully returned.

On February 14, Ukraine returned 757 bodies of soldiers who died on various fronts.

On January 24, 757 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers who died on different fronts were repatriated.

On December 20, Ukraine repatriated 503 bodies of soldiers.

On November 29, 502 bodies of Armed Forces members were returned.

On November 8, 563 bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers were repatriated.

On October 18, 501 bodies of fallen soldiers were returned to Ukraine.

On August 2, 250 bodies of fallen soldiers from the Luhansk, Bakhmut, Marinka, Avdiivka, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia fronts, as well as from Mariupol and Horlivka and from morgues in Russia were recovered.

On June 14, as a result of repatriation efforts, 254 bodies of fallen defenders were returned, and after identification, they will be handed over to families.
