President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to recent comments made by Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff regarding "five territories" that could influence the peace agreement.
Source: Zelenskyy spoke at a press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Odesa, as reported by "Interfax-Ukraine" and "European Truth".
Details: The president stated that Ukraine is a sovereign state, and only the Ukrainian people can discuss its territories.
"All territories belong to the unitary state of Ukraine. Therefore, once again, only the people of Ukraine can speak about our territories. We have clearly established that recognizing temporarily occupied territories as Russian is a red line for us," he emphasized.
"Thus, relevant representatives are discussing matters beyond their competence," added Zelenskyy.
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff stated on Fox News that the peace agreement would include the resolution of the issue of the "so-called five territories", without specifying what exactly he meant.
Earlier, in a notable interview with Tucker Carlson, Witkoff claimed that "the biggest problem in this conflict is the so-called four regions", but when he began to list them, he counted five: "Donbas, Crimea, Luhansk, and two others".
Following these statements, Reuters reported that the actions and remarks of the U.S. envoy regarding the resolution of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine have drawn criticism in the White House and among Republicans.
