The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has submitted new legislative proposals to the Parliament aimed at extending the martial law and general mobilization in the country for another 90 days. If approved, these measures will be in effect until August 6, 2025.

The relevant bills, numbered 13172 and 13173, have been registered on the official website of the Parliament.

Ukraine Extends Martial Law and Mobilization

As of the morning of April 15, both documents have been forwarded to the profile Committee of the Parliament on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence for consideration. In the texts of the bills, the President proposes to confirm the corresponding presidential decrees for the extension of martial law and mobilization for a 90-day period.

According to the text of the draft law concerning the extension of general mobilization (likely No. 13173), this law is set to take effect from May 9, 2025, after its announcement through media channels.

The draft law on the extension of martial law (likely No. 13172) is expected to come into force "from the day of its publication" following its approval by the Parliament and signature by the President.

Continuing Mobilization and Martial Law in Ukraine: What We Know

On February 5, the President of Ukraine signed laws extending mobilization and martial law until May 9, 2025.

On November 6, Zelensky signed laws extending mobilization and martial law until February 7, 2025.

Earlier, the Parliament approved a law confirming the President's decree to extend the martial law in Ukraine from November 10 for 90 days.
