Today, February 10, at approximately 04:15, the police received a report from a social worker stating that her charges from the village of Sudobychi, who live in an inactive school, heard screams in the hallway.

Officers found that around 04:10, a conflict arose at the shared living space of internally displaced persons between a 72-year-old man from Donetsk and other residents over domestic issues, which escalated into a fight. During the altercation, the man began to strike five individuals with a hammer and an axe.

As a result of the injuries sustained, five people died at the scene: two men aged 60 and 68, two women aged 81 and 78 from Donetsk, and a 56-year-old woman from Kirovohrad region.

The first to arrive at the scene were patrol officers, who identified the attacker.

Subsequently, investigators detained the 72-year-old suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigation teams from the Dubno District Police and the Main Department, along with a forensic laboratory, are working on-site, along with the leadership of the National Police. The procedural supervision is conducted by the Dubno district and Rivne regional prosecutor's offices.

Investigators have initiated a pre-trial investigation under paragraph 1 of part 2 of Article 115 (intentional murder of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
