Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky is partnering with Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, renowned for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, to embark on a new initiative. This collaboration aims to elevate educational standards and research in Ukraine, better preparing specialists for the computer game industry.
The cornerstone of this partnership will be a new program called "Game Programming," developed by experts from GSC Game World. The studio will create a comprehensive educational course that reflects current technologies, game development methodologies, and industry requirements – ranging from engine utilization to the production of large-scale projects.
The Faculty of Computer Science and Computing Technology plans to host joint events with the GSC Game World team, including workshops, training sessions, and thematic seminars. Faculty and students will have the opportunity to engage in research initiatives related to graphics technologies, development tools, and optimization of gaming systems. The partnership also includes dual education, allowing students to undertake internships at GSC Game World and work on real studio tasks.
KPI emphasizes that this collaboration will help establish a complete training cycle for game programmers in Ukraine, combining academic knowledge with practical experience from one of the country’s leading game studios. This will enable the university to respond more swiftly to the needs of the GameDev market, while students gain relevant skills essential for working in the industry.
