On the morning of October 17, emergency power outages were implemented in Kyiv and twelve regions of Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure. However, later in the capital and Kyiv region, these outages were lifted, as reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on social media.

According to the report, "Emergency outages are currently being enforced in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and partially in Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia regions due to the aftermath of previous Russian strikes on the energy system".

At 10:26 AM, the DTEK Group announced on Telegram that "emergency outages in the capital and Kyiv region have been canceled".

"Kyiv, Kyiv region: emergency outages have been lifted. We will promptly inform you of any changes if necessary," the message said.

Moreover, in Chernihiv region, hourly power outages have been introduced in three shifts due to the impact of Russian attacks on the region's infrastructure over the past weeks. Recovery work is ongoing.

Power limitation schedules for businesses and industry are in effect daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM throughout Ukraine.

As of the morning of October 17, several regions remain without electricity due to a new Russian attack. Emergency restoration work began immediately as soon as the security situation allowed.

As of 6:30 AM, electricity consumption in Ukraine matched the level of the previous day, attributed to the cloudy and cold weather prevailing across most regions.

"It is essential to maintain energy-saving consumption today. Please limit the use of high-power appliances and avoid turning them on simultaneously," advises the energy system operator.
