The Security Service of Ukraine has detained four individuals suspected of collaborating with the enemy, who orchestrated arson attacks on railway facilities across different regions of the country.
According to the investigation materials, these individuals came under the radar of the FSB of Russia while seeking «easy money» via Telegram channels. However, instead of financial rewards, they received suspicion from Ukrainian law enforcement and the looming threat of imprisonment.
In Cherkasy region, three teenagers aged 13, 14, and 16 from the city of Smila were caught setting fire to relay cabinets on local railway tracks under FSB instructions.
The investigation revealed that these tasks were «test missions» prior to creating an improvised explosive device for a terrorist act.
The enemy also tested the youths by instructing them to paint provocative graffiti on the walls of administrative buildings.
In Kyiv, a 36-year-old citizen of a neighboring European country was detained for executing orders from Russian special services.
It was documented that, following the occupiers' instructions, the foreigner set fire to two input signal cabinets that ensure the uninterrupted movement of trains in the capital region.
Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators charged three suspects under part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (diversion committed by prior conspiracy of a group of individuals under martial law).
The suspects are currently in custody. The issue of bringing the 13-year-old suspect from Cherkasy region to justice is being resolved.
Comprehensive measures were conducted by SBU officers in Kyiv and the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv city and Cherkasy regional prosecutors.
