A criminal group has been uncovered in the Obukhiv district, involved in fraudulent activities concerning water fund land. Members face up to 12 years in prison.
Investigators from the Obukhiv district police department, with the operational support of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine, documented the suspects' activities.
The investigation revealed that the accused conspired with unidentified individuals to forge and utilize counterfeit ownership documents and a letter from the State Geocadaster.
In December 2023, based on these forged documents, ownership of a 7.27-hectare land plot, classified as water fund land in the Khaleppyan village council territory, was registered.
To further legitimize the asset, in February 2024, the suspects entered into a sale agreement, transferring the land to a company under their control.
The illegally acquired and transferred property is valued at over 50 million hryvnias.
The investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Obukhiv district prosecutor's office, have notified three individuals of their suspicion regarding document forgery, large-scale fraud, and legalization of property obtained by criminal means (Part 3 of Article 358, Part 4 of Article 358, Part 5 of Article 190, Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
