The Security Service of Ukraine has captured yet another agent of Russian intelligence in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This individual was tasked with coordinating missile and drone strikes against Pavlograd and monitoring the movements of Ukrainian military trains.
According to the case materials, the 30-year-old unemployed informant came to the attention of the aggressor through Telegram channels promising "easy earnings".
After recruitment, he began patrolling the frontline city and its outskirts to locate and photograph backup command posts of Ukrainian defenders and the positions of the Ukrainian Air Defense systems. Additionally, he was supposed to assist the occupiers in detecting cargo trains of the Armed Forces, identifying their numbers, armaments, and movement directions. To achieve this, he set up a phone camera opposite the railway track, disguised in a juice box, with remote access for his handler. SBU agents apprehended the informant "in the act" when he concealed the spying device near the railway line. The Security Service also carried out special measures to secure Ukrainian military locations.
SBU investigators informed the suspect of charges under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, transfer, or placement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law).
The suspect is currently in custody without the right to bail and faces up to 12 years in prison. Comprehensive measures were conducted by SBU personnel in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
