As of Thursday morning, July 31, 75 settlements in six regions of Ukraine were left without electricity due to severe weather conditions.
This was reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on social media.
"Due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, gusts of wind) – 75 settlements were fully or partially de-energized by morning. Repair crews are working to fix the issues. They aim to restore power to all consumers by the end of the day," the message states.
It is also noted that electricity consumption is showing a downward trend. On July 31, at 9:30 AM, consumption was 7% lower than at the same time the previous day – on Wednesday. The reason for this change is the cooling down across the country. Additionally, most regions are experiencing sunny weather, which enhances the performance of household solar power plants and reduces the load on the overall energy grid.
Yesterday, July 30, the daily peak of electricity consumption was recorded during the day, which was 5% lower than the peak of the previous day – on Tuesday, July 29. This decrease is attributed to a significant drop in air temperature.
Ukrenergo reminded that the Ukrainian energy system continues to recover from Russian missile and drone attacks. Emergency recovery work at energy facilities is ongoing.
