As of the morning of July 23, there has been a significant reduction in electricity consumption, while 122 settlements in seven regions have been completely or partially deprived of power due to worsening weather conditions.
This was reported by NEC "Ukrenergo" on its Facebook page.
"Due to unfavorable weather conditions (thunderstorms, strong winds) as of this morning, 122 settlements were fully or partially without electricity in seven regions. Power company crews are actively working on restoring electricity supply," the statement reads.
Additionally, as a result of a massive drone attack on critical infrastructure the previous night, there are outages in one of the frontline regions. Energy workers are doing everything possible to quickly restore power to all consumers. The situation is complicated by the periodic announcement of air alerts, during which work on damaged facilities is necessarily halted.
As of 9:30 AM, electricity consumption was 4.9% lower than at the same time the previous day — Tuesday. This decrease is attributed to the drop in temperature in some regions, as well as sunny weather in most areas (except for part of the north), which positively affects the performance of household solar power plants.
Yesterday, July 22, the daily peak in consumption was recorded during the day, being 2.8% higher than the peak of the previous day — Monday. This is explained by the hot weather prevailing across Ukraine.
Energy company officials note that the Ukrainian energy system continues to recover from the series of massive missile and drone attacks by Russia. Emergency restoration work at energy facilities is ongoing.
