Security Negotiations in the Black Sea: New Developments

Important negotiations concerning security in the Black Sea are currently underway in Turkey. These meetings are organized at a military level with representatives from the United Kingdom, France, and Ukraine.

Source: President Volodymyr Zelensky shared this information during a press conference in Odesa on April 15 after meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, as reported by "European Pravda".

Zelensky stated that the Turkish side is conducting military meetings focused on Black Sea security, primarily relating to the "coalition of the willing".

"For the past two days, we have been discussing this at the venue provided by our Turkish partners. They have invited representatives from Europe, similar to the Paris summit – this includes the UK, France, Ukraine, and Turkey as the host country," he added.

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that a meeting would take place on April 15-16 to discuss Black Sea security following a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Although Turkish media previously reported the presence of Russian representatives, Ankara has denied this information.

It is worth noting that following the negotiations in Saudi Arabia from March 23-25, the USA, Russia, and Ukraine agreed to discuss maritime security in the Black Sea.

However, Russia later put forward a list of demands, including the easing of sanctions against the agricultural sector. The USA stated they would consider these demands, while Europe dismissed them.
