Innovative Drone Interceptor Camera Unveiled by The Fourth Law and Odd Systems

At the Brave1 Components exhibition, the companies The Fourth Law and Odd Systems presented a cutting-edge camera for drone interceptors that can automatically guide UAVs towards airborne targets.
The Fourth Law is a developer of software and autopilot modules, while Odd Systems specializes in producing cameras for UAVs known as "Kurbas". The primary goal of these companies is to create a "smart" system that can identify targets and guide interceptors more effectively than a human operator, who may make mistakes or lack the experience needed for successful elimination on the first attempt.
Currently, the camera reliably performs a detection function, allowing operators to spot enemy drones in the sky in a timely manner. The system autonomously detects drones in thermal imagery by analyzing the movement of the object, its thermal signature, and other parameters using AI.
Work on the automatic guidance system for interceptors is still ongoing.
"The challenge in developing the guidance module against the 'Shaheds' lies in the fact that we are dealing with fast-moving targets and the high speed of the interceptor drone. Hence, more precise control algorithms are necessary for successful targeting," a company representative told "Defender".
The operational altitude of the camera with the module is up to 5000 m, and the target detection range is up to 1000 m (depending on weather conditions). The claimed detection accuracy is 80%.
The "Kurbas-640" cameras from Odd Systems are installed on several Ukrainian interceptor drone models, including the STING UAV from the "Wild Wasps", which recently began eliminating jet "Shaheds".
The price of the camera with the guidance module is approximately $800, while the module alone costs $300.
The overarching goal of the developing companies is to achieve full autonomy for drones on the front lines: against both aerial and ground targets.
