Explosion Near TPP-6 in Kyiv: Details and Consequences

On Sunday, an explosion occurred near TPP-6 in Kyiv, sending a column of black smoke into the sky. Preliminary reports indicate that a tank exploded at a commercial facility.

Sources include Kyiv's mayor Vitali Klitschko and KMVA head Timur Tkachenko.

According to Klitschko: "The explosion reported by Telegram channels is not related to TPP-6. Preliminary reports suggest that a fuel tank exploded at a commercial facility near the TPP".

As of now, the mayor states there are no casualties, and emergency services are on site.

KMVA head Timur Tkachenko also reported that power supply has been disrupted in several residential areas on the left bank of Kyiv. He confirmed that the information regarding the explosion at TPP-6 is inaccurate, and the fire has already been contained.

According to "Kyivenergo", TPP-6 is operating normally and there are no threats to Kyiv's energy supply.

In a statement from "Kyivenergo": "The incident occurred at a facility outside of TPP-6. The station's equipment is functioning normally, and there are no explosions or fires on the premises of the thermal power plant. There are no power outages for consumers receiving electricity from the station. There is no threat to Kyiv's energy supply".
