A significant outage occurred in the ChatGPT service from OpenAI, impacting users around the globe.

This morning, there have been considerable access issues with the platform, as reported by the monitoring site Downdetector.

ChatGPT Outage: Reasons and Impacts on Users

Users are widely reporting an inability to load the chat or receive responses, instead seeing a system message: 'Something went wrong'.

The first reports of malfunctions began to come in around 10:00 AM Kyiv time, with the issue rapidly spreading to numerous countries.

On the official OpenAI status page, they confirmed the existence of problems, stating there were 'increased error rates and delays'.

The outage affected not only ChatGPT but also the video creation tool Sora and the API.

By around 1:00 PM, the company updated the information, classifying the problems with ChatGPT as a 'partial outage' and separating the issues with Sora into a different category.

The malfunctions are not uniform among all users: some report extremely slow service and significant response delays, while others continue to use the chatbot without visible issues.

OpenAI representatives officially stated that they are investigating the incident.

Currently, the causes of the outage and the estimated time for full service restoration have not been disclosed.
