OpenAI is aiming to create a revolutionary "super assistant" that deeply understands its users and serves as their gateway to the internet. This was revealed in documents related to the antitrust case against Google.

The super assistant is described as an "intelligent entity with T-shaped skills". This means it will be tailored to individual user needs and accessible wherever ChatGPT is available. The "T-shaped" concept indicates that it possesses deep expertise in a specific area while being versatile across others.

According to OpenAI, this super assistant will be capable of performing various tasks: answering questions, finding housing, communicating with lawyers, signing up for a gym, planning vacations, purchasing gifts, managing calendars, organizing to-do lists, sending emails, and much more.

The project is slated for release in the first half of 2025, marking the first mention of such a tool. OpenAI has yet to announce any new products or similar agents, and with the first half of the year approaching its end, it may need to adjust its timeline.

Additionally, the document refers to a "broader strategy" that could position ChatGPT within the realms of search engines, browsers, and even operating systems. However, the specifics of this product remain unclear due to redactions in the text.

"There is also a broader strategy: creating a super assistant, followed by [REDACTED]. We are now dealing with search engines, browsers, and even interactions with real people. This is not direct competition. It’s about addressing a growing number of use cases and gradually engaging users. That’s why we don’t call our product a search engine, browser, or OS – it’s simply ChatGPT," the document states.
