Meta is developing a new feature for the web version of WhatsApp that will enable users to efficiently find and manage all media files sent in chats, as reported by WABetaInfo. The new media hub will serve as a central location for viewing images, videos, GIFs, documents, and links that have been received or sent across all chats.
This function, already seen in the messenger's beta version, will include a search feature with caption support, the ability to sort files by date and size, as well as contextual information about documents and links, including the name of the contact who sent them and the date of sending. Additionally, users will be able to select multiple files at once for deletion, forwarding, or downloading.
Unlike the mobile version of WhatsApp, where media management is less convenient, the new web tool aims to streamline the process of searching for and organizing files. This feature is expected to be available in upcoming updates, although the exact launch date is still unknown. This innovation could significantly enhance the user experience, allowing for quick access to important files without the need to sift through each chat individually.
