For the second consecutive year, Ukraine has ranked first in the world for fixed internet stability.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, referencing the 2024 Digital Quality of Life Index study.
The ranking evaluates the quality of digital services, including internet access.
“Ukraine's top position is attributed to the development of xPON technology, which operates for 72 hours without power, allowing people to stay connected during blackouts,” the statement said.
In recent years, Ukraine has become a leader in xPON connections. In 2021, 30% of Ukrainians utilized this technology, with plans to cover 65% this year.
“Russia continues to destroy critical infrastructure daily, and our goal is to provide this technology to every populated area,” the press service added.
In comparison, Russia ranks 9th in the world for fixed internet stability.
Additionally, Ukraine holds the 56th position for fixed internet speed and 98th for mobile internet speed.
