Revolutionizing Communication: Live Translation in Google Meet

At the Google I/O 2025 conference, Google unveiled an innovative live translation feature for video meetings in Google Meet. Users will now have the ability to receive real-time automatic translation from Spanish to English with minimal delay.

According to Google, the translation technology is remarkably close to natural conversation, as it not only conveys the meaning of what is said but also preserves the tone, speech rhythm, and even the gestures of the speaker. This will significantly enhance the quality of international video meetings, allowing everyone to speak in their native language while artificial intelligence handles the rest.

Until now, Meet users could rely only on live captions for translation, which required them to read text during conversations. The new feature will enable complete focus on communication without the need to divert attention to textual prompts.

This feature is currently available in beta for subscribers of the Google AI Pro and Ultra plans. It is expected to become available to corporate users later this year as part of early testing. Google also plans to expand support for additional languages in the coming weeks.
