AI Assistant in Diia: A New Era of Digital Services

Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister for Innovation and Digital Transformation, announced the launch of an AI assistant in the Diia app. Beta testing will begin in June. This assistant will help users easily access necessary services and certificates, find the nearest administrative service center, and in the future, offer voice communication capabilities.

«We have rethought what we do with Diia. From 2019 to 2020, we made a significant leap and created a user-friendly application for quickly obtaining services. However, now, with AI, consumer culture has changed. Anything that doesn’t resemble ChatGPT or similar models raises questions about how to use it. To create the best user experience, we need to transform Diia into an AI-based product,» emphasized Mykhailo Fedorov.

During DOU Day, the Vice Prime Minister shared that the AI assistant will be available for beta testing on the Diia portal starting in June. Users will be able to access services through AI and search for answers to questions, such as whether specific documentation is needed for traveling abroad and how to find the nearest administrative service center.

There are also plans for the AI agent to automatically send certificates, and in the future, guide users through the entire service acquisition process. Users will be able to describe their life situations, and the AI will suggest which services are needed. For instance, if someone writes, «A rocket hit my house,» the AI agent will understand that they need to apply for the eRecovery service, send a few photos, and submit an application to the commission.

In the future, it will also be possible to make requests via voice and interact with Diia just as we currently do with other AI models.
