Google has officially confirmed that the stable version of Android 16 will be released in June 2025. This announcement was made by Allen Huang, the product manager for Pixel, during a briefing ahead of The Android Show, as reported by Android Authority.
According to Huang, the updated Material 3 Expressive design will debut later this year, initially on Pixel devices. This change will not be included in the public release of Android 16 in June.
While a specific release date has not been provided, earlier rumors suggested a launch on June 3rd. It is expected that Google will share more details during the I/O conference starting on May 20th.
Following the release of Android 16 for Pixel, other manufacturers will gradually announce their updates as well. Notably, Samsung is preparing a beta version of One UI 8 based on Android 16.
Additionally, the integration of the AI assistant Gemini into Android Auto and the new Wear OS 6 based on Android 16 were announced at The Android Show.
