Enhanced Security Features in Chrome

Google has updated its Enhanced Protection feature in the Chrome browser, integrating the Gemini Nano language model. This new technology, introduced in the desktop version of Chrome, aids in detecting new types of fraud, such as fake tech support. According to Google, Gemini Nano operates directly on users' computers, identifying threats that previously went unnoticed. This was reported by Engadget.

Google claims that Gemini Nano effectively recognizes complex websites, enabling quick responses to novel fraud schemes. The company plans to implement this technology on Android devices and later use it to combat other forms of online threats.

Additionally, Android users will receive enhanced protection against fraudulent notifications in Chrome. Google employs machine learning that operates directly on smartphones. If the system detects a suspicious notification, Chrome will display a warning, offering the option to review it or unsubscribe. In case of a false block, users will be able to allow notifications from that site in the future.

Combating fraud remains a top priority for Google. For instance, last May, the company unveiled a new feature that warns users in real-time about fraud during phone calls. Recently, the "Messages" app was also updated, adding new protective features. Thanks to these initiatives, Google is able to thwart hundreds of millions of fraudulent attempts before they reach users.
