From November 30 to December 7, 2025, Kyiv will host the National Sports Games for Defense Forces titled “GART”. This event is organized by the initiative center “Come Back Alive” in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
The primary goal of the event is to provide rehabilitation opportunities for veterans through physical activity and the development of adaptive sports. The organizers emphasize that no professional sports experience is necessary to participate. Sports can be a tool for recovery from injuries, helping individuals feel their bodies anew and find support among those on a similar journey.
The program includes wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball, archery, swimming, cycling, laser run, powerlifting, and rowing on simulators.
Over 500 veterans and guests are expected to participate. Accommodation, meals, and logistics will be provided for the participants.
The “GART” games aim to not only promote adaptive sports but also to create a supportive community for those who have served and are on the path to recovery.
