On Saturday, September 27, the Ukraine U-20 team celebrated a victory over South Korea in their first match of the 2025 World Championship for youth under 20 years.
The "Blue and Yellow" quickly took the lead, scoring in the 13th minute with a precise shot from Synchuk into the far corner from outside the penalty area. Only a few minutes later, Pyshchur doubled the advantage.
At the start of the second half, the opponents managed to narrow the gap, but the Ukrainian side contested the goal. After reviewing the VAR, the referee disallowed the goal due to offside.
However, Korea managed to score in the 80th minute from a corner kick. Nevertheless, Ukraine held on to their lead until the final whistle.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, with a chance to progress from third place as well.
