The Ukrainian national team has made an impressive start at the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore. In the first three days of competition, our athletes have captured 17 medals (3 gold, 8 silver, 6 bronze).
This world championship marks the first time para swimming is being held on the Asian continent, featuring 580 athletes from 75 countries, including 51 from Ukraine.
Our medalists:
- «Gold»: Oleksandr Komarov, Anna Hontar, Hanna Polishchuk, Artem Oliynyk (mixed relay 4x50 m freestyle, European record — 2:18.36), Anton Kol (100 m backstroke, S1), Ilya Yaremenko (50 m freestyle, S12).
- «Silver»: Artem Oliynyk (50 m freestyle, S5), Oleksiy Virchenko (100 m butterfly, S13), Veronika Korzhova (200 m individual medley, SM7, European record — 2:56.50), Vladyslav Koshman (100 m freestyle, S6), Anna Hontar (100 m freestyle, S6), Eduard Horodyanin (100 m backstroke, S8), Hanna Polishchuk (150 m individual medley, SM4), Danylo Chufarov (100 m breaststroke, SB11).
- «Bronze»: Anna Hontar (100 m backstroke, S6), Igor Nimchenko (50 m freestyle, S10 + 200 m individual medley, SM10), Kyrylo Poida (100 m backstroke, SB7), Maksym Veraksa (50 m freestyle, S12), Eduard Horodyanin (100 m butterfly, S8).
