The Canadian hockey team Prince George Cougars has announced the signing of Ukrainian goaltender Alexander Levshin.
This information was shared by the team's press service, which competes in the Western Hockey League.
Details regarding the collaboration with the 19-year-old Ukrainian national team goalie are currently unknown.
“It’s an incredible honor for me to be selected to the prestigious WHL league, and it’s especially significant to join a club with such a rich history and dedicated fans,” commented the goalie on his transfer.
Last season, the Kharkiv native played for the Toronto Patriots in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). He averaged just 2.43 goals against per game and had a save percentage of 93.5% for that team.
Levshin was also recognized as the best goaltender at the World Junior Championship in Division 1B, and in the spring of 2025, he made his debut for the Ukrainian national team.
In June, he received an invitation to the Vancouver development camp.
It was previously reported that defenseman Mykola Kosarev from the Ukrainian junior hockey team signed a contract with WHL's Victoria Royals.
