Ukrainian Women's Fencing Team Reaches Quarterfinals

The Ukrainian women's fencing team has made it to the quarterfinals of the 2025 World Championship.

Today, July 28, during the international competition taking place in Tbilisi, the Ukrainian fencers faced off against neutral athletes from Russia in the round of 16.

The team consisted of Daria Myroniuk, Alina Polozyuk, and Olha Sopyt. After the first five matches, the Ukrainians trailed 18:19. However, after the sixth duel, Ukraine took the lead and maintained it throughout the competition.

In the end, the Ukrainian team secured victory with a score of 45:36, earning a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2025 World Championship.

Unfortunately, in the semifinal match, the Ukrainians lost to the Italian team with a score of 34:45.

Yesterday, July 27, Alina Komashchuk won a bronze medal at the 2025 World Championship.
