Triathlon Championship in Odesa

On July 13, a triathlon (aquathlon) championship took place on the Black Sea coast in Odesa, aimed at veterans of physical culture and sports.

The event attracted 283 participants from various cities, including Odesa, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Bila Tserkva, Lviv, Donetsk region, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, and many others.

The swimming stage (1 km, 2 km, 4 km) occurred in the coastal waters, starting from the 'Chaika' beach (the starting area) to the yacht club (Novoberihova Street) and back. The running stage (5 km, 10 km, 20 km) ran along the Health Trail, from 'Chaika' beach to 'Zolotyi Berih' beach and back.

In the overall ranking, Andrii Kushnerov (Kyiv) won with a time of 46:13, followed by Serhii Zviahin (Kyiv) at 53:18, and Odesa's Petro Vasyliiev at 58:09.

In the 'long' aquathlon (2+10 km), Odesa's Vadym Maslenikov triumphed with a time of 1:13:01, silver went to Kyiv's Serhii Chernyshov at 1:14:53, and bronze to fellow Kyivite Serhii Yanhicher at 1:16:35.

In the 'Standard' aquathlon (1+5 km), Andrii Pechenyi from Kyiv celebrated victory with a time of 33:28, second place also went to Kyiv's Semen Tereshchenko at 34:07, while Odesa's Denys Poliakov claimed bronze at 35:08.

Among women in this distance, all podium spots were claimed by Kyiv athletes. The champion was Anastasiia Ihnatiuk, with Nadia Somina in second place and Iryna Krotova in third.

The event was organized by the Odesa Regional Triathlon Federation with support from the Odesa City Council.
