The draw for the main draw of the third Grand Slam tournament of the current season – Wimbledon, has taken place. The first matches have been set for Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, and Yuliya Starodubtseva.
Svitolina (14) is seeded 14th and will face Hungarian player Anna Bondar (75) in the first round. They previously met a month ago at Roland Garros, where the Ukrainian triumphed in two challenging sets.
Kostyuk (26) is seeded 26th and will start her competition against qualifier Veronica Erjavec (171, Slovenia). This will be their first encounter.
Yastremska (41) has drawn a tough opponent. She will compete against the world’s second seed, Coco Gauff from the USA. Gauff has won all three previous matches between the two, including their encounter in Madrid this April.
Starodubtseva (67) will challenge wild-card holder Francesca Jones (125, UK). The two players have not faced each other before.
The main draw of Wimbledon is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 30.
