The Ukrainian horting team has become the European champion by clinching the first overall team position.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Horting Federation.

From April 25 to 28, the European Championship in horting took place in Milan, Italy, with 64 athletes representing Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Rivne, Transcarpathia, and the capital.

They competed for nearly 180 sets of medals across three categories: wrestling, fighting, and police self-defense. Age categories started from 12 years old.

As a result of Euro-2025, the Ukrainians secured 57 gold medals, making the Ukrainian team the champion of the tournament. Italy finished in second place, while France took third.

Horting is a modern martial art that originated in Ukraine. The founders of this martial art explain that the term horting comes from the name of the island Khortytsia, where the Zaporizhian Sich was located.
