The Youth World Chess Championship held in Rhodes, Greece, featured 845 competitors from 48 countries.
Among them were four representatives from Ukraine who achieved gold and silver medals.
Myron Netrabka from Dnipro became the world blitz champion in the under-8 category, scoring 9.5 points out of a possible 11, leading his nearest rivals by 1.5 points.
Daria Kravchuk from Bucha earned a silver medal in the rapid category for players under 10, scoring 9 points out of 11 and finishing 2nd among 29 participants.
