The embroidery of towels will last for two months, serving as a symbol of prayer, unity, and hope.
On July 15, the event «Towel of Hope» commenced in Kontraktova Square in Kyiv — a silent embroidery of towels to support the detained and missing Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported by the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The initiative was led by the NGO «Women of the Nation», which includes the associations «Women of the Territorial Defense», «Women of the Armed Forces», and «Born Free 2024».
Women from all over Ukraine and the diaspora abroad joined the campaign. The embroidery will continue for two months — until Defender of Ukraine Day — as a symbol of prayer, unity, and hope.
As part of the initiative, relatives of the captives and the missing, along with all caring individuals, will embroider towels as a symbol of their struggle for their loved ones, remembrance, and solidarity.
A representative from the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War participated in the event.
They provided families with individual consultations on how to obtain information about the captives and the missing, as well as opportunities for interaction with the Coordination Headquarters.
