In anticipation of Embroidery Day, famous statues of the city's founders – Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv, and their sister Lybid, located in Postal Square, received unique decorations in Kyiv.

The images of the refreshed figures were shared by the creator of the composition, Volodymyr Zhuravel.

All four bronze figures now sport traditional Ukrainian clothing, with the embroidered shirts being the main highlight.

Interestingly, one boy's trousers are adorned with a pixel pattern that is also reflected in the design of his shirt.

Little Lybid wears a festive wreath on her head.

Volodymyr Zhuravel also noted that over time, bronze sculptures naturally take on a dark olive hue due to weather conditions.

Typically, sculptors use a special substance – patina, to expedite this process.
