The specialists of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have received over 20 million UAH from philanthropists for state-of-the-art Magura sea platforms and fiber-optic drones. This was reported by the GUR on Facebook.
“A new reinforcement for Ukraine’s military intelligence: GUR specialists from Group 13 have received two modern Magura V7 sea platforms, while FPV experts from the “Shamanbat” unit have acquired fiber-optic drones,” the statement reads.
It is noted that more than 20 million UAH was donated by stand-up comedian Anton Tymoshenko, who raised these funds during a European concert tour - in a month and a half, he performed 37 shows in 29 cities.
The technological equipment was purchased and delivered to the intelligence officers in collaboration with the charitable foundation of Diana Podolyanchuk.
The Magura V7 drones, which can be equipped with missiles to target enemy aerial threats, were given symbolic names “Setup” and “Punchline”.
“Thanks to everyone who donated and joined the fundraising efforts. I was asked how to name the Magura drones. I said - if there are two, let’s call them “Setup” and “Punchline”. It’s very symbolic. Setup is the beginning of a joke, and the punchline is its, so to speak, combat part. They say humor isn’t a weapon, but as you can see, everything is possible with your help. I hope these “Maguras” will perform well in defending Ukraine,” Tymoshenko stated.
Six active action units of the GUR received a package of assistance from an anonymous benefactor from the Netherlands worth 350 thousand euros.
